TYPICA Co-founders Masashi Goto and Ayane Yamada Selected in Forbes JAPAN’s “Top 20 Japanese Entrepreneurs”
Global business magazine Forbes Japan has named TYPICA co-founders Masashi Goto and Ayane Yamada as the top 20 entrepreneurs in Japan.
Forbes Japan lists top Japanese entrepreneurs every year, with an aim of highlighting business leaders who have the potential to drive Japan’s economy and make “a new Japan.” The annual rankings started in 2015 and marked their 9th this year. Goto and Yamada have made the list for the first time.
The full details of the rankings can be found in the magazine’s January 2023 issue, published on November 25. It also features interviews with top-ranking entrepreneurs.
Nominees were examined based on various criteria, such as prospects for global success, potential to exceed around 721 million US dollars in market capitalization, business results and growth potential with a concrete timeline, the maturity of the management and executives, and focus on social problems.
In nominating Goto and Yamada, judges noted TYPICA’s fast expansion into a global service in just 18 months since its launch in April 2021 – with 2,000 producers in 32 countries and 3,000 roasteries in 39 countries now using the online platform. They also acknowledged the novelty of TYPICA’s business and its focus on improving the lives and livelihoods of small coffee farmers.
